Stopping to smell the roses. We all dream about it, but we so seldom take the time to do it. These small pleasures come in different forms and everyone has their favorite. Some of you may know that our city has THE BEST coffee shop in all of the Country. We go there frequently and enjoy the good food and coffee drinks. Except for an occasional Frappacino, I drink, exclusively, the best Americano ever delivered to an anxiously waiting customer. It started out as a cup of coffee, but sometime last winter evolved into the ultimate delight. Well, ok, into a pretty good cup-o-joe. It was always a double shot of espresso or even sometimes three or four. One day I got the idea that if we just let the machine continue putting water through the dispenser until the cup was completely full and then put that into a preheated, very hot mug you could have a BIG coffee. We tried it and it was GREAT. It had to have a name. A name was needed that might entice our local customers to try something extraordinary. Well, The Wild Dave was born! Made with our regular beans it is good. Made with premium beans it is worth a long walk to get.
Winter here in our city is something of a misnomer. You see, the temps here are very mild to us. It seldom got below 55 degrees F. here even during the night. Usually by 10:00 a.m. it was getting close to 70 degrees and would be very comfortable for the rest of the day. A Wild Dave sipped at a sidewalk table was very enjoyable for those times. Now, however, the temps have climbed into the 90’s and will go higher from now until late August. I had to do something about hot coffee. Without admitting to any personality changes, I finally took Judy’s advice and tried an iced Wild Dave. Poured over ice in a chilled mug and kept cold by adding ice when needed has produced an utter masterpiece in human delight! This is not just smelling roses. It is lying in a field full of them. Well it’s pretty good. The pictures show both the hot(on the right) and iced (on the left) versions. Imagine the aromas. Sense the crisp tastes. They are stunning even in their visual clues. THE WILD DAVE is a real delight! Come on over and we’ll go to the cafĂ© for a coffee lover’s treat.
Until Next Time,
Dave & Judy
