Well, I am setting here while Dave has gone to Ritchie County to get ready for the big fishing/camping trip to ‘the mountain’. Yes, there is a mountain here we travel to also.
I am recovering from my neck surgery 6 weeks ago and am still unable to drive a car. Thought it would be good to look back at the last year. How rapidly time flies.
We arrived back in the US last April 27 and spent 2 days in Dallas to recover at a good friends apartment then headed to CO to visit our daughter and son-in-law. After that we did lots of travels, visited friends and groups in at least 8 states and finally anded in WV in June and moved into our apartment.
Adjustment to the US is difficult after spending 2 years in a foreign country. We had hoped to be further along by this time but are still searching for direction in some areas.
We have gone from house searching to new apartment looking to 5th wheel searching. Dave was blessed with a new truck in Feb and has enjoyed owning a truck again. There is a bumper sticker that states “It’s a Jeep thing you not understand” and a truck is a ‘guy thing‘. We have been shown that a 5th wheel is not being a good steward of what we have been given so are now back to seeking direction for living quarters. For now we are in our 2 BR rented townhouse but are looking for one on one floor soon.
As many of you know we spent 2 weeks in August on a tour/cruise of Alaska for our 40th anniversary. Loads of fun. Alaska is HHHUUUGGGEEEE to say the least. Then in Dec we headed to the UK to visit our son and his family and wait for our daughter to give birth to our third grandchild. UK is a great place and we are looking forward to another visit in warmer weather. After returning to the US the last day of Dec we headed to Louisiana to see our new granddaughter, Kyla. The 10 days we were there were too short but will return.
Dave took a Chinese class at a local university this semester to keep his language up to speed and has done very well. We are anxiously awaiting our son and his family’s return from the UK 4May. Dave, his brothers and Matthew are heading to Tucker Co, AKA the mountain, for their trip They are all excited. Then we will get to spend some time with them and their kids and also have a visit from Melanie later in the summer.
As I mentioned, I had neck surgery 6 weeks ago. Had 3 discs removed, bone put in and a plate. Now waiting for the fusion process and started therapy to train the muscles to turn again. Dave has been having some problems with his right knee and is looking forward, NOT, to the hole surgery some time soon. No date yet.
We are seeking direction as to where we are to serve next. Living in the US IS different and specially when the last time you lived here you were working. We are now retired and not sure what to do when we grow up.
Please continue to pray for us in this way and we will keep you informed of any new adventures we are being sent out on.

Hi Judy, Great to get your comment on my blog. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I have heard much about you too and hope to meet you in person as well. Where do your daughter and son-in-law live in Colorado? We just moved to Colorado Springs. Adrian just got a truck too. :) Ours is new to us but an old truck. It's charming. :) We love Alaska. We have good friends who live there and we've been to Sitka two summers now. It is great to be in touch with you. I pray that God leads you and guides you as you enter this new season in your lives. We know about transition right now as well. I hope you are enjoying West Virginia. I have been there once before. Beautiful place. Kelly
