There are new pictures on the web of the apartment. It's becoming home and almost completely furnished. One of our friends is going to give us a desk this week and we have a wicker chair set on order. After that it will be just a few odds and ends.
The washer hook up has a story. The original one was a garden spigot which would not let the washer hook up. The delivery guy said something in C. and went out the door. I got that he was going to fix it. Sure enough, he came back later with this BIG crescent wrench and started twisting on the thing. It go loose but wouldn't come out of the wall. Now we're in trouble! After a few minutes, I called our neighbor in the other building and he came over. The two of them pointed and talked and sure enough, it's broken! Duh, I could tell that and I don't speak the language. The fix involved a call to the landlord (He's thrilled. We haven't even moved in yet and the place is torn up!) who came over the next day. He mutters around and said to our neighbor that he will come back tomorrow and fix it. He did with not too much complaining. This little spigot cost us 2 days in the hotel since the water to the whole house had to be shut off while we waited on the fix.
The installation of the bedroom air conditioner was a little scary. We have pictures of 2 guys hanging out of our 6th floor window installing it so don't miss them. They will be up soon.
For the third time in two weeks the power was off all day today. They don't bother telling anyone that it's going to be off. It just goes away and comes back when the stars get all lined up again. It usually isn't off longer than daylight hours though. By night it is back on.
It rained all day yesterday and most of this morning. We walked to a great cafe (about 20 minutes) for supper since we had no power. We eat there regularly. I had a bowl of Mach 2 noodles tonight. Their real name is VietNamese noodles and are designed to be spicy. I got it extra hot. They were just at my limit. More about the Cafe later. Hen hao chi! That's said Hun How Chur and means really good food.
That's all for now. Have a really great day and we'll be back on the web in a couple of days. Love you all.
