ROME

Well, Dave and I are now in Rome, Italy. We arrived on Sunday evening. Matthew, Cyndia and Lydia arrived early afternoon. There is a 7 hour difference for us so we were a bit weary but not too tired to enjoy seeing them. We are staying about a 10 minute walk from the Trevi Fountain - shown above left (the one you throw coins into). The first day we headed out for viewing the Palentine Hill, Colosseum - shown in the above right picture and the Roman Forum.
It was a pretty long day, except for the fact that we were visited by one of the FAMOUS ROMAN PICK-POCKETS. He didn't actually pick a pocket but Dave's cell phone.
We had just purchased a SIM card for it also so we could connect during the long days of touring. Well, it just makes you feel sort of dumb and stupid that you allowed someone to take something from you but we are very fortunate it was an item which CAN be replaced. That meant a phone call to the insurance company but they will take care of it and the next time I am sure the cell phone will not be carried in the magnetic fastening belt attached cell phone carrier.
