WEIRD WEATHER

Today is January 26, 2010. At home in the USA, you have had a really different weather season. Your weather this year has been quite unusual. Unusual at least for the last few years. When Judy and I were in school, the weather that you are having now was very normal for us. We can remember times in our home town when the temperature never got above 0 degrees F. for a whole month!! We have pictures of the family car completely buried by snow with nothing sticking out of the snow bank except the radio antennae(remember those?). You all may be headed back to that type of weather.

Anyway, today, we have had a weird weather event. This is the height of the dry season for us. It hasn't rained here since just about mid November. It shouldn't rain again until late May when the rainy season usually begins. Well, we have had a morning of very hard rain. It started out with a small rain shower which stopped just before Judy was to leave for school. It was really just a sprinkle which was unusual in its own right. Then just after she got back, we had a downpour! Thunder and Lightning were everywhere. The rain was accompanied with a very cool breeze; it felt like an early spring thundershower in the mountains of WV. Everyone outside was scurrying around looking for cover. They were completely caught off guard.

So, don't feel like you are having the only weird weather in the world. Over here it's gotten wacky too. Is this the beginning of rainy season? Oh, I surely hope not!! Since the coffee trees were getting very stressed from lack of water this may just be a Divine gift for them. Thank you Father!!
