Only 1 treatment remaining and the ringing of the bell. We had 3 radiation friends do this today. Below is a photo of one of them. He, Scott, told me a better way to get to the hospital.
We had our next to last radiation on Friday. All still continues to go well for Dave.
He had the hiccup with the expected swelling last week but the steroid/decadron has taken
care of that and he is not as tired.
We had our last oncology visit for the first cycle of treatment. They continue to be amazed at
the awesome way God is handling this. The plan now is
take the last Chemo pill tonight, Saturday
Have last radiation on Monday
Then we go for 4 weeks and on Nov 6 get a contrast CT to check things out
That afternoon we meet with the oncologist, Dr Gonzales, and he gives us the cycle II
the standard of care is to do 5 doses of twice the chemo dosage as now at night
On day 21 after this we get blood work done to see what is happening
On day 23 we come to CMH to get blood work here and then meet with doctors
they determine what to do after that. If all is well, we will then go through the 5 days of Chemo
pills again and do the blood work on days 21 and 23.
I know this has been a lot of information but...
What is our life like now? Hectic. I am really struggling with the mood swings and various other
things that are difficult to explain. I have crashed and burned this week. I am so ready for some
relief and have made some plans at the advice of a friend to have some time to myself
Because of this I am asking for some assistance I would like for someone to come by the house in mid mornings for only an hour or hour and half to make sure all is well.
Thanks folks I am also in need to anyone in the home area who has had a spouse go through this to be able to chat with someone.
I know this sounds selfish considering but...
\Thanks so much for reading I will post a photo on Monday after we finish this.
