Being Hands and Feet

Well folks, it has been a rather busy week here for us.  Sorry the photos are small they were taken on my phone.  On Monday we left after our 0800 radiation appointment and headed to WV to surprise a special someone for grandparents day at her school.
Kyla was most surprised and a bit hesitant as she did not to receive a bad tally for talking on the way to the celebration.  We had a great time and made some memories with her, spent the night in our own bed and after a brief visit to our great chiropractor, Steve Eddy, headed back to our noon radiation appointment.  It was a long 2 days but very worth it.  Also, it was our son's 40th birthday. He is now the same age as his wife, sorry Cyndi.  Anyhow did not to be with him but understand.  He will be here next Friday and be heading to Ritchie Co in WV for some much deserved/needed FARM TIME.

That being said, we will be 5 weeks or 25 sessions complete on Monday next.  On Wednesday I noticed some changes in Dave as he was pretty tired and seem a bit confused.  Happened upon our NP in the hall of the hospital and brought it to her attention.  She instructed me to watch and let them know on Friday, today, for our visit with the radiologist.  SO, that being said, I did that.   Today was to be the start of the boost radiation or about 1 1/2 times the umph he has been getting  This continues for the last/next 6 treatments.  They noted a bit of swelling in his brain and so we are on the steroid again 4 mgs 2 times a day for 7 days and then 4 mgs 1 time a day for 7 days and then I forget the last change  anyhow  not important.    I have managed to get 2 doses into him today so that is good.

I have been blessed this week with green arrows at the entrance to I71 in the mornings. That may seem a smallish issue to many of you but to this 68 year old not used to city morning traffic driving it is a HHHUUUGGGEEE thing.  Thanks for the prayers for the driving.

We're excited for next week to get here and have this chapter of this book completed.

We have said good-bye to several radiation friends this week as when you complete your treatment you get to ring the bell 3 times well to celebrate the day and then be on your way.  I will post a photo when we do this on Oct 9th

Prayer concerns - that the swelling goes down and there are no side effects to the steroid.
continued grace in the morning traffic
peace and calm for me as I am the one in the "LEFT SEAT" now and it is difficult                                 for a 767/F8 Capt to be out of control of a situation,.
Safe travels for our son on Friday and safety for his family as he is away.
A young lady named Christy who is having a difficult time with her treatment

Thanks again for your faithful support.   We love you all and there are not words to express.

DAVE and JUDY
