After Thanksgiving update

We had a great celebration with 2 of my brothers and 2 of Dave's.    Turkey and ALL the trimmings
Dave ate I do believe 4 plates full of food,  He still believes he is only 20 and walking trap lines

He had been acting different since day 4 of the double chemo pills but we rationalized it away that it was the chemo pills.   Tuesday he started walking differently, dragging his left foot along and also he had a difficult time holding things in his left hand.  After some deliberation it was decided to NOT CALL the oncology dept until on Friday so we could celebrate Thanksgiving.  Was this the proper decision  I think so since he enjoyed the time so very much.

Thursday afternoon I did call James cancer and they informed me oncology would be in to work on Friday so I could call then, which I did.

Friday morning was no better as a matter of fact, it was a bit worse.  He was now talking like he had a mouth full of spit.  I called and stated my concern.  When the call was returned it was decided to take him across the river to Marietta Memorial ER.   Once there they drew blood, of course, and did a CT.  The call was then made to CMH (Columbus for you non airline folk) and they informed the hospital to transport him to the James Center as there was significant swelling visible.  Arrival at CMH was about 1500 and they did some workups.   Once we saw the attending they determined to admit him and pump him full of the steroid, Decadron.    There was noticeable improvement and the doctors determined no surgery right now. They are treating with steroids to get the swelling gone.  I came back home as he will be there until at least Monday.   He will have a contrast CT tonight and continue the decadron.  The oncologist is looking at changing the next round of chemo to Keytruda on Dec 11 when we have another CT and blood work.

Thanks all for reading and praying.  That is our daily keep going.     I also have a brother with some health issues and many others we know as there are many you know also.

Will keep you updated after Monday or Tuesday when he should get back home.
