Quick Changes
The last month has been full of change. It was a hectic time at the end
of August when we moved out of our apartment an put 99% of our stuff
into storage (again!). Thanks to Matt and all of his hard work in
helping with another move. The other 1% is in our little jetta and is
accompanying us to Florida, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Richmond. We have
vacation stuff, summer clothes, and winter things with us along with all
of the other things that we normally bring along all packed and stuffed
into that little car. It's FULL!
September started with a trip to visit our Navy friends in backwoods WV
(Mount Bowers). The rural lifestyle was a needed break from the hectic
move. Jack and Cindy taught us how to play a domino game called Mexican
Train which was very entertaining. Next, we traveled to Orlando,
Florida. We rendezvoused there with Matt & Cyndi, and we picked up
Lydia and Isaac from them for almost a week of grandparent time alone
with them. We REALLY enjoyed that. The pool was a hit. The kids,
both, enjoyed the water and had to be "convinced" to come back to the
room. When Matt & Cyndi's meetings were over, we had another 4 days to
hang out together and finish off our summer visit with some low key
vacation time and good food. It was a sobering time when they all got
into their jeep and drove off. Outwardly, I was OK, but inside, I was
feeling only those things that a grandparent can feel as their kids go
off for what you know will be a loooong time. We had a tremendous time
with them as they were home on their turnaround. While here in Orlando,
we were also able to reconnect with some super friends that we made a
couple of years ago. It is so great how God allows us to make friends
and then re-visit them years later.
During this time we made a trip to an RV dealer in Sanford and purchased
our new home (more on that in the next post)
We leave here tomorrow for a few days in Key West then on to P'cola to
see the ole F-8 in the Naval Air Museum. We are also very anxious to
visit Melanie and her family in Louisiana.
Until Next Time,
Dave & Judy
